DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

You were moving along in your career: juggling kids, aging parents, a relationship and the demands of a busy job.

You loved your life and although you had an awareness that it was ALOT, you mostly felt it was doable.

But then something happened………..

Maybe you got burnt out?

Maybe the scales tipped when your parents needed more of your time?

Maybe you got a nice payout?

Maybe you are playing around with ideas about doing something radically different and need time to work it all out?

Maybe the pandemic made you aware of deeper dissatisfaction with your life.

You realised it was time to take a break

Time to look inside yourself and reconsider what matters most.

Time to re-assess and reprioritise.

Definitely time to put yourself first.

Regardless of what happened, you finally recognised that your best move was to carve out time, away from the demands of paid work, to focus on yourself. With ten or more years of work still ahead, taking time out now will help you reassess your future and make great decisions about the next chapter. There is no doubt that you are:

    • hard working

    • smart

    • expert in your field

    • deliver results

You could do anything. But what do you WANT to do???

SO YOU DID IT. Congratulations!!

What most women want from their career break

Regardless of the reason for taking a break, most women want to use this time to:

  • Prioritize their well-being.

  • Gain fresh perspectives and life experiences.

  • Dedicate time and attention to reflecting and reassessing priorities.

  • Reevaluate and potentially redirect career goals.

  • Re-connect with personally meaningful pursuits.

Now that you’ve decided to take a break, it feels a bit daunting.

You don’t know where to start or how to structure your time off.

What if you spend all your time scrolling and not doing the internal work?

What if your family thinks you’re available to do more - more driving them around, more housework, more caring?

Let’s face it. Many things can get in the way of a successful career break.

What if I told you that you don’t have to do it alone?

Imagine if, during your career break, you could experience…….

Being

  • Develop a self-care practice and a routine and rhythm to your week that supports your progress.

Becoming

  • Understand where you are now and where you want to be.

  • Know what’s getting in the way and what needs to change.

  • Have lots of ideas and inspiration about pathways and priorities.

  • Get your creative juices going.

  • Decide on your next steps.

Belonging

  • Have a network of like-minded women around you so that you always have the support you need when you need it.

Introducing CareerBreak Connect

with Sue West

Australia’s only program for women over fifty who want to re-examine their priorities and the direction of their career, and are taking a break to work out how to do that. For professional women who want it all: a meaningful and purposeful career aligned to who they are now, creating impact, and putting themselves first. CareerBreak Connect is a small group program purpose-built for women like you.

CareerBreak Connect is the place where you can BE, BECOME and BELONG.

In CareerBreak Connect you will:

Connect with yourself

A career break is an opportunity to step back and reflect on who you are now at this point in your life. You will be supported with various self-reflection tools to better understand your values, strengths, and areas for growth.

It’s also a unique opportunity to practice self-care in a new way.We will support you in designing a new daily routine, planning amazing adventures, and working out how to bring an abundance of joy into your life.

Create your next steps

Our career planning tools will help you decide on your best course of action as you become ready to end your break. We’ll make sure you’re supported to bring lots of ‘life’ into your post-break work/life balance.

Connect with your ‘why’ and back it with action

You will be supported to make the most of your time by setting an intention for your break, getting clear on the actions that will help you make the most of your time, and sharing your progress with others. Reflect in the group and learn as you go.

Connect with other amazing women

Grow new connections in this program with women who are in the same boat as you and willing to support your journey and open up new opportunities. Hear from women who have been in your shoes in the past and take on board their lessons.

What if you could re-find happiness, joy and ease in your career (and life) and had a cheer squad encouraging your every move?

What if you could have the keys to unlocking your flourishing life after fifty.

You can have all that and more inside CareerBreak Connect.
